Journey here for a marvelous window on Panama’s pre-Colombian and Spanish Colonial past. The ornate churches and buildings in Parita date back to the 16th century. The Herrera Museum contains Amerindian artifacts dating back to 500 BC. Celebrate Herrera’s Spanish heritage at one of its many Spanish festivals. Do some awesome bird watching at Playa El Aguilito. Or visit the pottery factories and come away with some wonderful finds.
